I need to replace my leaky, corroded, old kitchen faucet. I have the replacement ready to go, but I can’t figure out how to get the old one out. It’s a kohler, and none of the images or videos I’ve found show one like this. I easily got the two plastic nuts off the sides, but in the center, I can’t find anything to loosen. I assumed it was that hexagonal post coming down, but the thing that looks like a flathead screw doesn’t budge, even after WD40.

I am not a plumber. I have never seen that kind of faucet. I would put a socket wrench on the hex. That would involve spreading the copper first.

I think you only need to unthread the hex part. And the copper lines can be bent and broken off to gain you access to the nut.
