Replacing what is probably the original toilet in the basement of my 1950s house.

Toilet removed, no problem, but now no idea what I'm looking at.

There is no closet flange... the 2 bolts were fastened directly into the concrete.

The cast iron pipe is about 6" outer diameter and around 4.75ish inside diameter.

It had this sort of plastic drain covering the pipe flush (6") then getting smaller down into the drain. The wax seal appeared to be adhered to this plastic drain, then the toilet tightened down onto the bolts in the concrete.

Pics attached of drain and plastic piece... what's my simplest option here? Do I have any simple options?

I'm not a plumber and I dont want a basement toilet bad enough to tear up the concrete and redo the drainage... it's just a basement toilet so I dont mind if it looks ugly.

Basic would be something to hold the bowl down, closet bolts and anchored bolts. A wax ring or a deep wax with horn would most likely do the rest.

Something like this secured with anchors into the concrete will hold closet bolts.

Thanks so much Terry.

I assume I'd want to keep the plastic piece there... any idea what that is called?

I'd like to replace it because it's a bit warped.

That plastic piece is the "horn" of an extended wax ring. If you use one of those, (but, personally, I never did), it will have its own plastic piece. What you have in the floor looks like the remnants of an old toilet flange.

Danco HydroSeat is like a repair ring with a horn. Put wax below it. They intend that you don't need wax above.
