Old Mansfield toilet fill valve will keep letting water into the tank very slowly. Eventually making its way into the Overflow tube . There is no leak from the flush valve which has been verified with dye. No water escaping from tank to bowl . Can well water sediment keep the fill valve from seating all the way?

Some fill valve have a replaceable seal. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Fluidma...Valve-Seal-for-400A-Fill-Valves-242/100580550 is for Fluidmaster. https://www.korky.com/parts/fill-valve-replacements/replacement-cap-assembly-fill-valve is Korky. But if you don't have the seal, replace the whole fill valve, with includes the seal.
