Is there a preferred method of connecting pipes and fittings?
I am familiar with ProPress, Sweat, NPT threaded, and sharkbite and FasTec.
Is there any good reason to choose one over the other? or any reason to stay away from any of them?
What is most popular among plumbers here in the US?

Pex is thre most popular. Sweat is the best. Npt and compression for attaching fixtures.

Propress is good and fast. Sweat is better.

If you asked about the least popular from your list, it would have been easy.

FasTec

Missing from your list are pex expansion, pex clamp, and pex crimp.
hmmm... I have worked with FasTec and I really like them. Is there a particular reason? or is it just that they haven't caught on in the US? They go together much easier than a sharkbite in my opinion.
Yes, I left off pex... I was only thinking copper when I posted - but I guess since Pex is so popular I will ask of those 3 types you listed... are any of them exceptionally more popular than the other 2?
