Is there any good alternative source for Uponor transfer plates? We had Uponor do our layout so I assume its all figured based on their transfer plate performance but that turns out to be a huge portion of the overall costs so wondering if anyone else makes a comparably performing product for a better price?

The OD is standard for the same specified material, so at least from a point of snapping in, say 1/2" tubing (which is 5/8" OD) from any brand would fit. From a heat transfer capability, it may be a bit harder, as the thickness and how tight the tubing fits inside will potentially be different. The other thing is the actual surface area of the plate.

Probably not being all that much help.

You'd have to look at the designed tubing spacing, and the availability of return loops if you're not embedding the whole floor in say gypcrete, or something similar, so you'd have a flat surface to then install your finished flooring.

Try Thermofin. They offer 3 different types and price points;
