Hello,

I have a 9 year old Toto One Piece Toilet (CST853) which runs for about 5 seconds every 5 minutes or so. I have shut off the water feed to the tank and in about an hour the tank is empty so it is definitely leaking into the bowl. I changed out the flapper (twice to make sure that the first flapper wasn't defective) and I also changed out the intake valve to no avail. I hired a plumber to come and look at it and he says I need an entire new toilet. He thinks but can't confirm that the drain where the flapper rests must be cracked and it can't be changed out since there is no access into the bottom of the tank because the toilet is all one piece. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Is the plumber correct? If so that is a bad design for a toilet.

Thanks

assuming the tank is not cracked...You should upgrade to the toto TOWER Flush Valve.
Toto# THU-453.10C-A
This is the flush valve replacement for a Ultramax CST-853.
Good luck.

Is it easy to install? I can't find a video.
At about time 0:28 it shows the hold-in screws for the new canister.

I have added the link showing the info you will need to remove the old flush valve to your other thread.
