We've moved into the house I grew up in and inherited the three original Eljer toilets. This one toilet set unused and dry for 4 years and I'm trying to get it back to working. My plumber said to replace all the pieces with gaskets. FYI - I know that I can replace the toilet entirely with probably less effort, but this is what I'd like to do in the interest of not just tossing a toilet that could work if I can just get the right parts.
I bought the universal korky 2" kit but that obviously did not work for the flapper. In the meanwhile, I've pretty much completely taken apart the toilet. My dad at some point definitely replaced the fill valve, but it looks like the plumber who drained the tank also disassembled something because the flapper was in there but nothing else so I don't have the originals to compare to.
I have gone to the plumbingsupply.com website, but I cannot figure out which of the options I need to buy. I can't even figure out exactly what type of toilet this is. I've looked on the inside of the tank then I see the 1957 date as well as some numbers which look like 44 and then another number. The lid has the numbers 275 and 4. I thought maybe it was a Hygeian but I'm not sure.
Can someone help me?
Thank you.
