Good morning pluming gurus
I’ve attached the picture of the set up that I’m working on. I’ve got the pump in the storage tank now and I want to add an alarm and shut off switch Incase the water get too low. I can’t figure out what panel I should use. From what I read I need pump down float switch. There are so many panels I can’t figure out which one I need. It is a 240v and I want to install in next to my tank. I’ve got a 12/2 wire at my storage.

I would think you would want a pump-up float switch, if you want it to power an alarm when the water level is low.

A pump-down switch would be appropriate for being in series with the pressure switch controlling the pressure pump to inhibit pumping when the tank is empty.

As a sensor sending a signal to an alarm panel/annunciator, that panel might let you select which is the alarm condition.

Exactly what do u want? Shut pump down, a alarm and any other thing like a flashing lite, manual reset. How far is the tank from the house? Where are these panels or can u read a wiring diagram ? Put a panel together? Wifi at the tank/ storage shed?

So essentially what I want is: shut down pump, alarm, light, manual reset. Tanks is about 100 ft from the house. I can put a panel together my self if I need to. I don’t really care about WiFi and there is not a storage shed. I was thinking to put that alarm/panel out side next to the underground tank.

Here's the diagram. Two floats both make on rise. Lower float for stopping the pump, upper float in case there is a power outage if water is high enough float will restart the pump feed and work of whatever your using for level control. Momentary switch ( manual reset) if u want to hold it in till lower float makes or the optional switch if it takes a while (timer instead of the switch would be a better idea). Added relay through n.c. contacts can power the alarms each alarm can have it's own contact or not. For lower voltage alarms transformer can be used just need to know the voltage and watts.
