I have a really bad sewer smell in my downstairs bathroom when the HVAC air is cooling upstairs. I thought it was the traps becoming dry, but I will run the water for a while, but it doesn't clear up until I turn the unit upstairs off. I have gone into the attic to check the unit which is brand new (but was doing this with the old unit too). I have had HVAC people look at it as well, but none can figure it out. The lines for the unit are close to the pipe that vents out the roof so not sure if it pulls the smell in. If so, not sure what to do about it. That room is the only problem area, but it is right at my back door, and it almost knocks you down when you walk in the house. Also, I have had my sewer pumped a month ago. HELP, please!
