I'm updating this question, to get to the meat of things, after having researched more.
Questions regarding https://www.deltafaucet.com/kitchen/product/B2310LF.html#specsTab
(1) Firstly, if I'm unsure of the thickness of my counter, and the above B2310LF Delta seems to require not much more than an inch of Deck, is there any solution in case my kitchen counter is thicker than the stated "deck-thickness requirement"? I really don't know what its all about.

(2) Secondly, I think i'd really like the above Delta, if indeed it does not have plastic cartridges, and hopefully no other degradable plastic parts.
So does it indeed not have degradable plastic cartridges in the handles?

(3) Note I can live without a sprayer, as I've done all these decades. It's durability that's most important to me. Though I do have a brand-new Delta sprayer from an old-model Delta Brilliance 440-sswf. Could a plumber hook that up to the above-linked model?

Original thread follows:

I'm panicking because i need use of my kitchen sink. This is crazy, i know, but two P299578LF-SS Peerless kitchen faucets leaked on me within the past few days. Yesterday, the plumber picked up a replacement of the same exact chrome model 2 days after installing the first one.
Both leaked.

The first leaked down under the sink (from the under-sink area - where the spout is - which seemed to be a white-plastic mounting-kit). It also leaked from the area where the right side handle is, causing wetness on the wood shelf beneath sink.

The 2nd leaked down under the sink from the left side handle (and still is doing a steady drip about every 10 seconds, even though I've not turned on the faucet for nearly 24 hours).

The spout also reminds me of a steering wheel i once had on a 1970s Chevy Malibu, which had so much play, you could barely keep within your lane.

I saw some one-star complaints online too. One review mentioned that the countertop needs to be no thicker than 2-inches for the faucet to be installable, then later said the counters need to be a max of one inch thick. I believe mine are 1.25" or 1.5" thick. They're very old from 1950s.

Can one of you recommend an affordable 2 handle chrome kitchen faucet which isn't such junk and doesn't restrict countertop thickness? And hopefully with no plastic parts the way this one has? Or is everything these days either junk or else very expensive?
Is this one good? ---> https://qualityplumbingsupply.com/a...02-monterrey-top-mount-faucet-w-swivel-spout/
Also - can you recommend any from Home Depot or other such box-stores?

Note that "elegance" and "height/clearance" are Near-Zero priority for me, as compared to Non-Junk. Also, i abhor fancy-grooves which make things hard to clean. No matter if its faucets, flatware or pots with recessed grooves that are hard to clean.

The plumber is due to come back here tomorrow morning, so i hope i hear from someone soon. I think i'll tell him to hold off w/replacement until i decide which i want.

To summarize my preferences:
  • 2-handle chrome
  • much prefer non-junk, all-metal parts
  • much prefer affordability
  • much prefer simplicity Vs. hard-to-clean grooves
  • Low-priority for me is elegance & height

I see, thanks! Also, what's your opinion of the Am.Standard linked above,
...and also which of below Gerbers offer the most clearance for pots while also not having junk parts?
https://www.gerber-us.com/product/m...-handles-spray-8-d-tube-spout-aeration-spray/
https://www.gerber-us.com/product/g...-plate-mounted-w-metal-handles-tubular-spout/
https://www.gerber-us.com/product/g...t-spray-w-metal-fluted-handles-tubular-spout/

I know I said clearance is low priority, but there's Clearance (with a Capital C) versus "minimal" clearance.

Marlinman I've updated my Qs at the start of the OP. Seems we've been posting sorta simultaneously.
