Hey y'all! I'm installing a washer box in a new laundry room. I've done a dry fit and think everything is ready to be glued. My question is: do I glue the two parts of the P-Trap together and do I glue the P-Trap in place? AI says no, but I think it's giving me information about sink traps.

This is a dedicated washing machine trap that will be inside a finished wall. There's no threads to tighten. I'm just having visions of a trap working its way free someday...

Thanks.

This needs venting, so let's presume that is off to the left of the photo.

I am not a plumber, but I think I would pick a way to get the standpipe vertical. For the three-joints in your photo, I am thinking I would want to glue the left-most last, or at least have the standpipe in place when gluing the left-most joint.

If you were asking if all three joints in the photo get glued, they do.

all joints get glued on solvent-weld p-traps. if it was a union trap it wouldn't be glued, nor would it be allowed, because mechanical joints can come apart.

Thank you! My instinct said to glue them, but I've made enough mistakes over the years to know it's better to ask.

Just FYI @Reach4 I do have venting outside the photo I sent and the standpipe is nice and plumb. (It's not the best photo with the diagonal rafters in the background...) Thank you for your prompt help!
