Hello,
I purchased my home about 1 year ago, it came with a Little Giant .5 hp jet pump/pressure tank combo attached, over the course of the year the unit ended up running dry when I was not home and frankly was failing when purchased. I recently bought a Harbor freight 1 hp pump/tank combo, I did all pre steps necessary before turning it on, once on opened all water sources pumped out water great, did how ever see brownish water come out first, once hot water heater was filled and unit built pressure I noticed that it dropped pressure from 50 to about 28 in roughly 20ish seconds. I did hear water what sounded like it was draining back. If I unplug the unit and plug it back in to restart, it will need a small amount of water to get the prime up and water moving again, the old unit did not have a check valve any where out of the discharge line and I do not know the quality of the foot valve (or if there is one to be honest) any starting steps to look check for basic troubleshooting?
Well is a shallow well system, checked down the well itself and has a fair amount of water
Piping is 1 inch PVC
