Hi,

I have a cracked overflow tube at the top. The rest of the overflow tube is perfectly fine.

Does anyone know how to repair this without replacing the whole overflow tub assembly (i.e. without taking the toilet apart)?

I have attached a picture of the crack and the water level line.

I have adjusted the water level line lower so that it doesn't overflow and the water stops just before the crack.

I have the broken piece still.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Must replace the entire assembly and emoving the tank is necessary. Get a rebuild kit. There are plenty of YouTube videos on how to. Depending on your skill set and tools, the actual replacement takes maybe 30 minutes. It also a good time to replace the flush valve.

If not sure on the how to, a plumber or a good handyman can do it.

The ones that crack very easily are white plastic, they get very brittle. I'm not sure what type of plastic.
