Hi - I am definitely not going to DIY but I’m curious if there is an answer. About 1x/year my PRV fails. It’s a ResideoB with the cartridge and the release valve at the bottom.

It’s probably because we live in old area and a couple times a year the city sends out a Vactor and cleans out main lines.

Wondering if anything to discuss with my plumber to put where mainline comes into house that will prolong life of my PRV? Thanks.

I don't see one with a release/relief valve at the bottom. What model? Can you open the bottom and clean the screen?
I have the FK06-LUT-DUS. Wondering if there is anything to put on the system to help the PRV from becoming dysfunctional annually. I know it is because of where I live and not an underlying issue.

What is the failure mode-- pressure out too high or too low? If too low, could the problem be a clogged filter?

Pressure is set to 60 but it is giving me 120. I love my plumber… just curious if anyone thinks there is anything he can do to the system to help it so PRV doesn’t keep failing. Anything to do where city water meets my house?
