Thanks, @Reach4. I actually replaced the piston and seal with a brand-new kit. I also rechecked to make sure they aren't broken.
The 5810 SXT has been a real problem and no real support from Pentair or my installer.

What happens if you turn off the power for 15 seconds, and then turn the power back on?

No matter how long I turned off the power, It kept rotating. So I finally removed the optical sensor and its connection, cleaned it well, put it back together, and reset the entire system it started working again.
But unfortunately, I have no idea what setting to use. Ran the manual regeneration cycle and now the water inside my home tastes salty. Not sure what settings to use. What information do you need to help me setup my fleck 5810 sxt valve again?

BLFC - 0.25
Number of people/typical gallons per day = 3 people/200 gallons a day.

I forgot to ask about the tank size (or cuft of resin) and the hardness. City water? If not, how much iron in the well water?

City Water. No iron
I honestly don't know cuft of resin in the tank but the tank size is 10x44 so it's either 1 or 1.25 cuft so it may be a 32k or 40k grain system.
