Can you use "Brush on Blue Block" with PEX pipe?

I am going to replace some of those cheap push pull plastic valves with Brass Craft 1/4 turn valves. The Brass Craft has a ribbed section that goes into the PEX pipe and it then clamped with a PEX ring. I'm sure you all know that much but what I was wondering, as this is my first foray into the world of PEX, is should I coat the Brass Craft valve with Blue Bock (or whatever) as extra insurance against leaks? Thank you.

I am not a pro.

Are you asking if you should put pipe dope on a barbed PEX fitting before crimp it?

If so, definitely not.

If you are going to do your own plumbing, you need to homework and follow the manufacturer's instructions. Making stuff up will get you in trouble.

I know it doesn't "require" pipe dope... I was just wondering if it would provide extra insurance against leaks and if it was a good idea or not. It sounds like its not a good idea. Thanks for the response and the link.
