So I want to buy these sioux chief copper pex fittings as well as copper elbows and currogated copper water heater connector with a copper pex barb. I have a cinch tool (the stainless rings with the tabs, not the round ring crimps). I notice on sioux chiefs instructions it says do not use those cinch clamps with their powerpex fittings (bottom right of pic). However menards sells sioux chief cinch rings that say they're for use with their power pex systems, and the copper fittings as well as the clamps menards sells both say they're for use with ASTM F1807 insert fittings... so am I safe to use the cinch style clamps? Id like to order tonight to get my order by the weekend

So.. when I Google the install instructions, the manual that comes up is missing the part on my screen shot about not using cinch clamps... could the manual that I screen shotted (which i got from the supply house website on the fitting info) simply be an older or outdated manual?

What you suggest is entirely possible.

Some pure speculation: Sioux Chief does not make ASTM F2098 "cinch clamps," so they initially didn't want to warrant the combination of those clamps by others paired with their F1807/F2159 insert fittings. But then they reached an agreement with Oetiker to comarket Oetiker clamps and removed the warranty restriction in the installation guide. In which case nothing changed about the design of the parts or the validity of the combination, just the company's attitude.

Anyway, using current information, I see no barrier to the combination. And any F2098 "cinch clamp" is supposed to work with any F1807/F2159 fitting, I believe.

Cheers, Wayne
