I sprayed all the assorted hot and cold water valves in my basement's metal pipes with WD-40, not realizing WD stands for water displacement and that may not be the best thing to use, since it does not leave a lasting lubrication on the valve seals. My intention is to just keep the valves in tip top shape and it may be best to not use anything, but with the WD-40 already on, what is my best next step? Also, I am changing a gas stove and would like to spray the gas valve with something, just to insure its smooth operation. What is the best lubricant to spray? TIA
