Looking for advice on bleeding stain at faucet hole on a new build. Quartzite countertop.
Plumber set fixtures two days ago. Just on one hole for air switch a ring has appeared. Other two are fine. Plumber used siliconized latex caulk to seal.
spoke to stone company they think that is the culprit. When i asked why the other two did not do it they said the grain of the stone is different.
they recommended a poultice of diamataceous earth and acetone which i put on the first night but when i checked today the spot had gotten bigger. I did not pull the air switch out first day which i should have but today i did and some of the caulk was still damp. We cleaned the hole completely out and used acetone
My thinking here is the stain could be caused by the caulk. Or it could just be water from the sponge he used to clean up getting down in the faucet hole.
I also am thinking the faucet hole should have been sealed and was not.
hoping the puoltice does some good.
Anyone have any insight or advice.
i now am using the poultice down in the actual fixture hole hoping it can draw some out.
