I've been studying battery backup sump pumps vs. water powered ones recently. My rural public water supply comes directly from a well system without treatment. Hardness is about 26ppm plus about 1ppm iron. The toilet fixtures in my shop building (no treatment system) get scaled up a bit. Iron stains and the faucet aerators need cleaning every few years. The RPZ in that building seems to need work about every two years-leaks, etc. from scale??
My question: are the water powered sump pumps sensitive to hard water conditions-scale, etc.?
Thank you.
