Bought an Ella's Bubbles 30x60 jetted walkin tub to replace an old cast iron tub. The tub fit but discovered at installation that the tub was probably better suited to be a standalone.. Manufacturer said it should have fit. Anyway the front access panel cannot snap on because the walls are too narrow. Looking for some ideas for wall modifications that won't look like a patch job. The front panel has 90 degree corners at the top. It's suppose to snap on underneath the tub. There needs to be enough width along the walls to accommodate the placement and removal without the panel having to bend too much. The tile sub damaged current tub so contractor is replacing it but said he will not do anything to help with the panel. Pretty sure the walls are going to be damaged some when the tub is removed. Wall on right did sustain some demo damage and was repaired so there is some plaster that we think can be sanded down but not enough.. This has become a nightmare. Suggestions please for what can be done or can ask the contractor to do if the walls need repair if they are damaged with tub removal. We know that the floor tile might need to be removed from beneath the tub for the vertical fit.
