Very simple and easy. Turn off the water and power source to the tank. Open a hot water tap and trip the TP valve. Remove the drain pipes from the valve. Remove the TP valve. Use either teflon tape or pipe compound on the new TP valve, screw it in, and tighten, making sure the outlet is point out so you can replace the drain pipes. These pipe do not have to be really tight, they are seldom used and are never under pressure. Restore the water and power. You will need to bleed the air from the hot water lines.
