Staining on shower sill around the frame and some at faucet aerator?
Slightly orange. Pasty texture when scraped and squeezed between my fingers. This is 2-3 weeks after being cleaned.

Municipal water and an installed a Fleck 5600 SXT. 10% cross linked resin 48K capacity, 4 years ago.

Tank has been maintained properly

Can this be from an incorrectly set unit? What else should I look for?

I really don't think that is from the water, but rather I suspect some steel up there is getting wet and giving rust stains. When you cleaned, how did that go? What cleaning agent did you use?

Ajax water and small scrub brush, It came clean completely. It's a standard tract home shower frame, aren't they aluminum? I think you are right though, the ice cubes are perfectly clean

I was wondering if the screws holding that aluminum track in place are rusting.

If a bleach solution makes the color go away, that would be from something growing. Bleach will not take off rust, I think.

Especially rust on white marble, that’s not coming off. Plus it had a pasty texture.

There are no screws holding it down, only where the frame attaches to the walls and at the vertical frame to frame.
I thought it might be excess salt?

Some things that might get rid of rust stains could attack marble, I would think, such as a strong acid. I might try an Iron Out Powder paste?

Down? It?

I would think fasteners might hold the frame UP to the walls and ceiling, but maybe you used glue.

Some exploring around with a strong magnet could be good.
