I take care of the maintenance of a small mobile home park. Some of the mobile homes have bath/shower plumbing completely
made out of brass. Replacing the washers are easy.

Other mobile homes have the brass manifold but the guts are made out of plastic. They have leaked almost from the
start and I couldn't get them to stop leaking until I replaced the whole manifold, usually with the cheapest manifold
which also has plastic guts.

Can you still buy shower/tub valves made out of brass? Undoubtedly, it will be more expensive but
I think in the long run they will be easier to deal with.

Thanks
Rick

All major mfrs use lead free brass bodies. Most all are single handle with a variety of cartridges that last a long time and are easy to replace.
I don't know what "manifold" you are referring to.
