I have a customer with iron in their well water. They have install a Fleck 5800SXT and say it has improved the water quality. They want to remodel their bathroom, but want to minimize the risk of future iron stains, as they plan to retire in the next 10 years and sell the house. They don't want a white replacement tub/shower. They have an almond one now, and want to know if there is something with lower risk of staining. My inquiries with Kohler didn't offer any definitive advice. My first question is: Is there a best color or finish in this situation?

I have a friend who worked in a water supply facility for years. His first recommendation was that the replacement unit have a glossy acrylic or enamel finish. The other thing he said to watch out for is dripping or sitting water. Another question is: what would reduce the risk of the shower head leaking?

Also, if others have had to deal with this, are there other things to think about? Other solutions?
