I want to place an upflush toilet in my shop. There is a bedroom directly above the shop with a half-bath. Is it possible to hook a toilet from the half-bath into an upflush toilet on a lower level?

A domestic SANIFLO pump unit will expel liquid waste up to 15 feet (5 metres) vertically and 150 feet (50 metres) horizontally, or any combination of the two. A heavy-duty commercial model can even achieve much greater distances, up to 33 feet (11 metres) vertically and 330 feet (110 metres) horizontally.
However you must tie in to a legally approved connection that does not affect the existing plumbing, which means NOT into the vent system but a drain.

Sorry I wasn't clear in my question. I have a shower and sink directly above my shop. I want to add an upflush toilet to my shop, so I don't think that will be a problem since I can tie directly into the 2" drain from the shower above it. My question is can I tie a drain from a toilet I would like to add in the closet above into the upflush toilet? So I'm adding two units: an upflush toilet that pumps the waste up 7" into an existing 2" drain, and a toilet directly above that. I could install two separate macerating toilets, but I want to know if it is possible to send the waste line from the higher toilet into the macerating unit of the upflush toilet below it, so I don't have to buy two macerating toilets.
