Hello all, thanks in advance for the help here. I have a shower with a Toto valve that has a few issues (photo attached). The shower leaks, and the leak always happens late at night and first thing in the morning. The leak is sometimes as bad as a small stream. I removed the shower head and hose to confirm the leak is coming from the valve (not just excess water in the head). If I wake up to it leaking first thing in the morning and flush the toilet or run the sink, the leak all but stops. I have rebuilt the valve with a major service kit. I thought the problem was fixed but it was leaking again a few days later. The shower also squeals with a high pitch when run, and the noise seems to be coming from the valve itself. The other shower (also on the 2nd floor) does not leak. There is, however, a thud noise in the pipes when the kitchen sink shuts off or intermittently when the dishwasher is running. The leaking shower is in a master bath that is on the opposite side of the house from the city water line. I checked the water pressure on my outdoor spigot, and it is 70 psi. The only water pressure regulator in the house currently is for the hot water oil furnace. Do you think the leak and high pitch noise are water-pressure related? or something else? Any recommendations for how to fix this would be much appreciated!
