He all. I am looking for better ways to hook up a double basin kitchen sink to 1 waste pipe.
Of course I could use a whole bunch of slip fittings and make it work but I hate them. Especially a horizontal pipe that's got slip/ compression fittings on both sides. It seems like they always eventually leak. They get bumped into and things start leaking.
Anyone have pictures, tips examples, of using solvent welded pipe from the tail piece to the San T?
I have an idea in my head but wanted to double check here.
Any good reason that this shouldn't be glued together? I don't want it leaking in the future.
Thanks
Travis

Yes. Expect slip joint to not leak. If you ever want to change something or clean out the trap, slip joint makes that easier.

Are you saying that you have experienced slip joint plastic leaking?

If you really hate them, then by all means glue.

You want to cut your sink apart to clean the piping in the event of a clog?

I think I would find a happy medium if I were anti slip joint.

Yes. I always see evidence of slip joints leaking. Or I am misdiagnosing it and it's normal or something different. But I almost always see, at a minimum of, dried goo in the threads.

Another question. Is the flange on a sink tail piece the same flange that is on a disposal elbow? Can a tail piece be used on a disposal? Of course one would use the rubber grommet on the disposal.
Thanks

They are the same.

I like the newer style of slip joint washers that are silicone based. They are much more of a traditional gasket type of seal. They don't leak.

The ball and socket type of seal on the trap weir would be more likely to get knocked out of alignment.

Like a said shoot for a hybrid.

Okay. I used a 2 piece trap.
How's this install look? Tell me what i did wrong and what could be better in the future.
If i installed the disposal i would have turned it 90 degrees top the left and gotten the 2 waste pipes closer together. I could have spun it but i didn't want to deal with the disposal air gap hose. Speaking of which. Do they have more flexible types of hoses for the disposal/ air gap line?
