Hi,

Is the service icon (the one that looks like a faucet with water coming out) supposed to be on all the time? I've read here and other places that under normal conditions, the icon is always on, and it will flash when a regen is scheduled "tonight".

If my regen time is 2:00am, when will the icon begin flashing? At midnight or earlier?

Thanks!

I think that would be when the countdown went down to zero. That could be at 8:37 am or whenever.

Thanks but if I'm using a Day Override and it hits that before the countdown goes to zero, when will it flash?

Dunno. I might know something Monday Feb 7. That is when my countdown on timed regen 5600sxt hits 1.

Thanks again. How do you know what day the countdown is currently on? Been looking for that but don't see it.

It could be deduced from diagnostic item HR. That is described on page 11 of the 5600SXT rev G service manual.
=============================
" Use this display to view the Hours
in Service since the last regeneration cycle. This option
setting is identified by “HR” in the upper left hand corner
of the screen."

My 5600sxt is set up as timer only, and the day-count-down alternates with time of day. That does not happen with a demand softener. The softener alternates gallons to go with the time.

==================
Note that when fiddling around, it is easy enough to accidently schedule a regen for tonight. That would make the icon flash. If that happens, just cancel it by poking the Extra Cycle Button momentarily.

Ah OK I see this now in the manual. My softener is set up as demand. Based on my programming parameters it starts counting down at 1,500 gallons after regeneration.
My display alternates between the gallon countdown and the time of day.
I also have mine set to regen at 14 days (code DO), in the event I do not consume 1,500 gallons in 14 days.
It would be nice to be able to see where I'm at in the 14 cycle but it looks like I can get there by taking hours and dividing by 24.

Good to know...thanks.

My Fleck 5600sxt filter will regen tonight. The service icon is not flashing. I expect that your 5600sxt will not flash the day before the Day Override (DO) triggers a regen.

I did not look back at your earlier posts, but if you are on city water, you can set the DO to 28 or 30. All iron and manganese will have settled out before reaching your home.
