I’m installing a bathroom ceiling exhaust fan/light. The wires coming from the ceiling are two black wires, one red wire, one white wire, and one green wire. One of the black wires has yellow tape around it. My question is: how do I deal with the black and red wire?

As it stands now, I’ve connected white to white, green to green, and black to the black with yellow tape. Thus far, at least, the apocalypse hasn’t arrived.

Should be a install manual that shows a wiring. Take a pic wiring diagram or brand and model of fan. How many wall switches do u have? What did the old fan have? Light, fan and? Heat?
Green is ground
White is neutral
