I have a 3/4hp, 240v well and a shut off valve that are connected by a capacitor. The well wires are black, green, yellow and red. The shut off valve wires are two black and one green. I have an 8000 watt generator that is dedicated to the well and shut off valve. I have a 30Amp plug, four prong to match the generator plug that I need to attach to the three wires coming out of the capacitor and then plug into the generator. The wires coming out of the capacitor are two black and one white wire. There is NO ELECTRICITY WHATSOEVER. The electrical wires to the power pole have been disconnected due to safety issues and I need water today while the safety issues of the electrical connection are addressed. There is no meter, no transfer box and no fuses anymore. There is just the well and the shut off valve and the generator. I am having problems figuring out how to properly wire the wires from the capacitor to the 30 Amp plug. I am assuming that the 8000 watt generator is sufficient for the 3/4 Hp 240volt well pump to get started, but when I attempted to start it up, there was nothing happening. All equipment worked perfectly until the power lines were disconnected and removed leaving me basically off grid. What could I be missing here?

Connect the generator to the L1 and L2 going into the pump control box, not the Red, Black, Yellow, Green going to the pump. Yes, 8K genset will easily run a 3/4HP.
