Pumptec Pump Protector Tripping

Since taking off the cover and replacing it made it work, makes me think the pin and socket electrical connections in the box and lid are loose. If you have a amp meter to clip around one of the pump wires, 5 amps would mean the pump is running and zero amps would mean it is not even though the green light is on.

You can bend and tighten those connections. Power Off First!!!!!
