Loud Rumble from Well?

Every now and again (maybe once a month?) I hear a loud strong rumble that shakes the house a little. I even felt it while sitting out in my backyard once. Felt like a little earthquake! Not sure what it is or how to begin diagnosing it. Any ideas? We are on a well.

Are you near a quarry or mine?

Not sure if it's the same time as I have only heard it several times in the last year. Checking with neighbours to see if they have heard it too and whether there is a quarry or mine in the area, thanks
