Kitchen sink leak--help a beginner fix it?

Does look like the trap arm needs some support since it looks a bit too long. A strap around the pipe and screwed to the rear of the cabinet will work for you.

Hmmm....this is intriguing. I'm not sure how it would work, though--is there any photo you can provide of such a strap arrangement? I had a look on Home Depot's site and wasn't able to find anything. Also, I'm not sure how such a strap would be supportive if it's screwed to the rear of the cabinet rather than the top, because the pipe is a few inches from the rear wall of the cabinet (but I can't screw to the top, as that's the sink).
