So I'm remodeling my kitchen with stuff from Ikea. A contractor that was re-tiling my master bath took off my old shut off valves and put in new compression 1/4 turn valves. They are 3/8 X 1/2.
Now i'm looking to add like a T fitting to connect another compression shutoff valve for the dishwasher so I would still have water going to the faucet in case I needed to do repairs or remove the dishwaser.
My contractor recommended the T fitting and i'm pretty sure he said I would need a compression T fitting. However when I went to home depot I found one that looked to have a threaded end on each end with a nut and a mini cylinder tube sticking out each end as well.
Is this what I need? I'm not sure that the T fitting I was looking at would connect to the thread from the hot water shutoff valve that he installed. As it would be two thread joining together with that nut being the only thing holding it together.
It seems like I would need a T fitting with a 3/8 female or nut end to thread to my existing shutoff valve.
Basically I'm looking to split the hot water line after the shutoff valve and connect another shutoff valve to the line going to the dishwasher and have the other line connect to the faucet.
Any help would be appreciated.
