"bolt"

If you are serious about saving money and don't care if you make a simple job worse, use your trusty hammer and cold chisel and remove the cleanout plug. After you do it, if your description is correct, you may find that the solution is not there anyway and you do need a plumber with a big snake and the experience to use it, AND the knowledge of WHERE to use it.

I can't tell you how many calls I go on where the DIYer has given it his best shot and told me how hard its going to be... They often have spent days trying to get it done...

Trust me I'm not trying to rub it in when I easily snake the line clear...
I just have a few more calls to get to so I can't hang around and make it look difficult.
The right equipment and knowing what you are doing goes a long way in getting it done...

I could honestly say I don't really consider someone to be good at drain cleaning until they have been doing it for about a year...

Never Quit, Never Surrender.....

C'MON,
thats the best advice?

I am not gonna let one bolt keep me away from conquering this project.
There has to be some tricks.

I quickly tried heating it, BUT may give this another try in the AM.

Any other ideas????

If you absolutely MUST win, and get that plug out of the tee or whatever......

go get a Sawzall,
and some Lennox steel cutting blades... a new 1 1/2 pvc plug

and literally slice across through that plug right down at the threads going into the tee.

spray down the plug with WD40 to keep the blade cool......

Now this is lots of manly, manly ....fun .....

the smell of wd40 flying through the air and all......

eventually you will cut through the plug that wont turn and
then you simply have to tap out the threads still stuck in the fitting..

I have had to cut out plugs many times before and it usually goes well
as long as you have a new sharp blade or two..
it takes about 5 minutes...

your biggest problem here is getting metal
shaveings and stuff in your eyes, but that just adds excitement to
the manly experience you are wanting to have..

just wear a hat and ......dont call a plumber.....

YOU WILL WIN......never declare defeeat....never surrender.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
