I have a well about 300 feet deep. We are the first owners of the house. The water had 1.59 mg/L of iron; .052 of manganese; 2.36 magnesium. We installed an iron filter and carbon post-filter. The plumber was pushing a water softener and RO for the kitchen and refrigerator. The well water test says, 38.5 mg/L by method SM 2340 C so I just put this off to obnoxious selling. The first two days tasted fine. Now my wife says it tastes like bicarb. I am not very picky about water but it is not terribly tasty.
