Hello,
We have a condo unit in a tropical climate that has a ClimateMaster, 6-ton water source heat pump for cooling. The condenser cooling water comes from a chiller on the roof of the building, and is circulated to all the individual condos. The ClimateMaster unit has the heat pump, and air handler all in one. The cold air is distributed to the rooms through ducts. The system works well, but it is a bit loud and not zoned independently.
Does anyone make a water source heat pump that uses wall-mounted mini splits? In other words, are there any units that circulate refrigerant or chilled water to multiple, small air handlers? I've seen commercial units that seem to do this, but I do not know if they are adaptable to a residence.
