Hello as the post sounds I recently got a claw foot tub, I had thought it had an overflow but it does not. The tub came with a 1.5” pop drain. Everything online shows diagrams and instructions on how to install one with an over flow.
I am not sure how to install one without. Would it be just a chrome tailpiece threaded into the pop up drain. Tailpiece through floor into trap? Wouldn’t I see the threads of the pop up drain underneath the tub?

The tub came with a white pvc flex hose assembly which was basically an over flow tub assembly design without the overflow. But I don’t want to see a white plastic pvc accordion style drain above the tile.

Any advice?
