My cousin has a pressure switch that doesn't seem to be working right. I told him I'd ask on here. He has a 360' deep well that works fine when the switch (30-50) cuts on. But he said sometimes when he uses a lot of water quickly, the pressure will drop below 30 quickly and go to 20 or less. This is when the switch won't cut on. It doesn't seem to recognize that it should cut on at 30. But If the pressure goes down to 30 slowly, the switch cuts on as it should and the pressure goes to 50 as it should. In the case where it goes to 20 and doesn't cut on, he has to take the cover off the switch and use a piece of wood to manually close the contact. Then all is well again. He has replaced the switch and the same thing happens. Any ideas?

Compatible with a mostly-clogged nipple or pressure switch with its own clog.

If quickly is just a fraction of a second, it could also be that the air precharge is high.
