My water heater is the Navien NPE-210A. I installed a Watts plastic recirculation sensor valve at the furthest faucet, switched DIP 1 to 'ON', and tried to switch parameter 17 to 'ON'. There is no dedicated return line, so I'm guessing DIP 1 turns on the internal recirculation pump. One problem I'm running into is that there is only 3 parameters showing after I do the 3-3-4 menu entry sequence.
Does anyone know why only 3 parameters are showing & how I can find parameter 17?
Also, does DIP 1 only circulate water internal to the unit?
Overall, the hot water doesn't take as long, but now the cold water is initially warm (guessing hot water is in cold water line). And my water has an initial plastic taste, too.
Thanks for any help!

Look up instructions for Navicirc. DIP 2 is on 1 and 3 off. 3-way valve is set to external. Tee from cold in to recirc return with check valve. You need to select option 2 (Parameters) to get to the p.xxx menu.

Apparently my heater unit is pre-2016 and doesn't have the functions of models after 2015 without upgrading the front panel & PCB. Mine is a NPE-210A, while the newer models are NPE-210A2. Guess it's time to upgrade not only to a latest gen unit, but may as well bump up to the NPE-240A2! Here's a snip from Navien (not the best grammar):
"The unit be from before 2016 - if that is the case you would need to update the front panel and PCB (the older programing before 2016 couldn't do it) - in order for it to work unfortunately. You can get them from the distributor."
