Hi All- Phoenix homeowner here... I'm in a house built in 1970 and thought I had found a water leak to an abandoned irrigation valve, but it turned out to be the main water feed to the house. It looks like a 20' section after the water softener loop was replaced with PVC at some point. It transitions from a female threaded copper fitting to a short piece of gray (schedule 80?) to PVC and back to another copper fitting to feed the entire house. I did a quick slip repair late last night to keep my wife happy, but I assume I should get someone out to replace this with copper or is PEX a better option now? Thanks for any advice.
