This is my 3rd unit. Brand new. There is like a short grinding, or shorting or buzzing on start up but then it runs quiet. Is this normal? I have a video and you can hear it.
My first unit ran fine for 6 months then vibrated horribly on powering off. Nothing I could do to fix so Insinkerator replaced it. The second I installed about 2 months ago and it made the same noise as this on start up. Then a week ago just hummed but did not run all of a sudden. It was not stuck and the reset button did nothing. Figured the motor was probably bad from the outset. So I bought a new one and just installed it. Same jarring sound when turning on. I checked all the electrical with an outlet tester, made sure the whip was wired correctly and tried it on a completely separate outlet... still the same thing. Is this normal sound? Seems odd for the "quietest" disposal they have.
