Caresoft Elite says check salt

Hello --

Can't seem to find the answer to this, and hoping someone has some good advice. Driving me nuts. My water softener after it goes through a region cycle it says "check salt".

Today I took all the salt out of the brine tank to see if there was a salt bridge or brine tank had a clog. Didn't seem it had one. So I refilled a quarter of the way. Ran a manual region. Seemed to go through the process fine -- brine tank filled with water etc.

After cycle was complete it still said "check salt".

Any ideas why? Thanks in advance.

What model softener do you have. My Culligan system needs to have "Clear Errors" selected and executed to make warnings go away.
