Can't get to water heater / install tankless instead?

I'm unable to remove a leaking water heater than has flooded the room. Can I somehow cut the water off to that one and install a tankless somewhere else in the house? Thank you for any help

First need to know the coldest water temperature in winter, then how max gpm you need. Then have to run pvc flue ,combustion air, 3/4" gas line and power. Buy a small pump and a shop vac that can pick up water standing water isn't good.

Cut the heater into smaller peices with a sawzall ......
then go ahead and jack leg install your tankless heater...
