I have the Grohe Seabury faucets installed and I can't open the drain as the lift rod is about an inch too short. Are these standard fittings or do I need to contact Grohe for a special order?

I assume you mean the rod out of the back of the drain. If so, go to a hardware store and get a rod coupling and bolt the size of the rod, and extend it.

Go to a hardware store and get a "rod coupling" and a piece of metal rod to add onto the ball rod. Bring the ball rod with you to get the right size.
