My system was winterized by a firm, but as a single person, I'd like to learn to "reactivate" it myself. I thought I knew how, but can't get the system to start. Here is what I have done so far: 1) closed main drain; 2) closed pressure vacuum breaker (FEBCO) test cocks; 2) closed the isolation valve ball inlet AND outlet - the valves are now perpendicular (NOT in line with) to the pipes - I'm not sure this is right; and 4) turned on the main water (to the city supply). I then tried a manual setting on my Irritol control panel and I couldn't get any water to flow (it is plugged in and appears to have power as the LCD screen lights up). What am I doing wrong? In the past I have blown my pressure vacuum breaker so I'm a bit "spooked" about messing with the system too much. Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
