slight dripping at bottom of tank
I had a Kohler 1 piece and had to pull the ballcock out. I put it back with a new flex line, only to have a very slight dripping all the time from above the flex line. thinking it was the connection, I filled Teflon paste around the nut and taped the threads on the ballcock. still leaked. next I put a new seal and covered it up with industrial strength silicone over and under the seal. still leaked. after three different flex lines and half a tube of silicone, I bought a brass ballcock and the leaks stopped at once. but I'm wondering what caused that dripping. there are some slots in the threads of the 1b1x ballcock fixture that might have allowed it to leak, but I'm pretty much mystified by this one. any ideas?
