Franklin encourages the use of maximum wire length in their chart, as shown in the link, as a means of soft start.

Their motors are special purpose, tiny diameter and water filled. They have a starting system quite different from any typical multi purpose motor. They endure low voltages that would destroy the basic table saw motor, especially if not a capacitor start.
