I had a friend come in and install a toilet in our remodeled basement. When I got home, I noticed right away that the tank was 1/4" further from the wall on one side then the other. I measured the distance to the bolts and they are even. Would I be looking for trouble if I loosened the bolts at the base and tried to rotate the bowl counterclockwise to try and get the distance a little more even? I might be able to twist the tank a bit as well and together it might get it at least to a point where it is pretty close. I just don't want to break that seal. If I need to pull the toilet and add a new ring then that is what I'll have another plumber do.
